You Are Enough


You are your own worst critics. 


No one knows you better than yourself, which is both a good and bad thing. 


You know all of your insecurities, every little doubt or fear. 


These thoughts can be so loud that they drown out everything else. 


You struggle with self-doubt. 


I am here to tell you that you are enough—exactly as you are.


It’s not always easy to empower yourself, but it is important. In order to lead a happy and fulfilling life, you need to learn how to be your own best friend. Here are three ways to start empowering yourself:


Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

One of the quickest ways to kill your self-confidence is by comparing yourself to others. 


Every single person on this planet is unique and special in their own way—including you! So instead of looking at what someone else has that you don’t, focus on what makes you beautiful and special, what your strengths are. 


When you compare yourself to others, all you see are their highlights and successes—you don’t see the blood, sweat, and tears that got them there. 


Instead of comparing your behind-the-scenes footage to someone else’s highlight reel, focus on your own journey and cheer yourself on along the way.


Challenge Your Negative Thoughts

When negative thoughts pop into your head, challenge them! 


Don’t believe everything you think. Just because you have a thought doesn’t make it true. You have somewhere in the neighborhood of 60,000 thoughts a day!  You get to choose which thoughts you entertain.


Start noticing the negative thoughts that run through your mind daily and then ask yourself if they’re true. Chances are, they’re not. Remember, thoughts become things—so make sure your thoughts are things that will empower and encourage you, not tear you down.  After all, you get to choose.


Talk kindly to yourself.

The things you say to yourself matter—a lot. 


Pay attention to the self-talk running through your head throughout the day. Would you say those things to your best friend? If not, why are you saying them to yourself? Talk kindly and compassionately to yourself like you would talk to someone you love dearly. 


After all, YOU ARE worthy of that kind of love and respect! Fill your head with encouraging words so that when doubts start creeping in, YOU can be the one to shut them down quickly before they take root.
